Terms of Use

Last updated: November 2, 2026

These terms apply when you use Sndbox, the website and the iOS and Android apps. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Sndbox.

1. Who can use Sndbox

You must be at least 13 years old (or older if your country requires it to use an online service without a parent's consent). You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe.

2. What Sndbox is

Sndbox lets artists upload music, cover art and descriptions, and lets listeners play, like, build playlists, follow artists and friends, and listen together in live rooms with chat.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of what you upload (music, art, descriptions, playlists, chat messages). You give Sndbox a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, stream, copy (for example to make a stereo version of an Atmos master) and display that content as part of running the service. This ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that are removed from backups on a normal schedule.

If you upload music, you promise that you own it or have permission to distribute it, and that doing so doesn't break anyone's rights or the law.

3a. Studio sessions and recordings

Studio sessions let artists play and record together. When you join one, the host and the other people in it can hear what you send, and the host can record the mix and receive a recording of each person's input. Only join sessions with people you are happy to be recorded with. If you host a session, you are responsible for having permission to record the people in it and for how you use the recordings. Don't record or share anyone's performance without their agreement. You can delete your own recordings, and a host can delete a session and everything in it, at any time.

4. Rules

Don't upload, post or share anything that:

Don't try to break, overload or reverse-engineer Sndbox, scrape it, or get around its limits or a suspension.

5. Reporting, blocking and moderation

You can report any user, chat message or song from inside the apps, and block any user. Blocking hides their chat messages and profile from you. We review reports and may remove content, suspend or delete accounts, or close rooms that break these rules, with or without notice when the harm is serious. If your account is suspended, you can appeal at the sign-in screen or by emailing appeals@sndbox.fm.

6. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on Sndbox infringes your copyright, email appeals@sndbox.fm with the song or release, proof that you own the rights, and your contact details. We will review it and remove content that infringes. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (You → Delete account) or on the website (Profile). This permanently removes your profile, playlists, likes, follows and everything you uploaded.

8. The service

Sndbox is provided "as is". We don't promise it will always be available or error-free, that every device can play every format (for example Dolby Atmos needs a compatible device), or that live rooms will stay in sync on every network. We may change or stop features.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Sndbox isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it (which for free use is nothing). Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can't be limited.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant we'll tell you in the app or by email if we have your address. Using Sndbox after a change means you accept it.

11. Contact
